Biobased materials are welcome to the design of food packaging because they possess many advantages, such as biodegradability, biocompatibility and low toxicity. Their use was boosted especially because of the environmental pollution caused by inappropriate disposal of plastic packaging. Nowadays, biobased materials for food packaging have attracted attention. Historically, some of them have been widely used by ancient populations for food packaging until these were replaced by petroleum-based plastic materials after World War II. These natural polymers are important materials obtained from renewable plant, algae and animal sources, as well as from agroindustrial residues. Polysaccharides and proteins, i.e., alginate carrageenan chitosan starch pea protein, were considered. In this review, a historical perspective, functional and application trends of natural polymers used to the development of edible food packaging were presented and discussed. These LSTIDs may be induced by the atmospheric gravity waves (AGWs) and presented obvious seasonal and diurnal varying features, indicating that the thermospheric wind field has played an important role. We compared the data of the Beijing, Mohe and Yakutsk digisondes and found that the LSTIDs are most likely to come from the northern auroral region. The LSTIDs mainly appeared between 10:00 and 19:00 LT in the months from September to the following May. From September 2009 to August 2011, 157 cases of the quiet-time LSTIDs were recorded 110 cases traveled southward, 46 cases traveled southwestward and only 1 case traveled southeastward.

The data of the ionosonde network were used to investigate the statistical characteristics of the quasi-3-h large-scale traveling ionospheric disturbances (LSTIDs). It contains 5 transmitters and 20 receivers, and it has 99 ionospheric observation points between 22.40В° N and 33.19В° N geomagnetic latitudes. The oblique-incidence ionosonde network in North China is a very unique system for regional ionospheric observation. The context-dependent efficiency of intercropping is discussed. We found no evidence that providing effective sources of food and alternative hosts for parasitoids increased aphid mortality in this study. However, no general tendency was observed upon whether oats, vetch or their mixture was associated with a lower incidence of aphids. Parasitism rates in exclusion cages were affected by intercrop type, reaching almost 60% close to the mixed intercrop. An effect of intercrop type and distance to plum trees was observed on aphid incidence during one sampling period. We found up to ten alternative host species provided by oats and vetch, and extrafloral nectar was available from the vetch and mixed strips. The trophic resources provided by these intercrops were assessed, along with the incidences of aphids and their parasitoids in plum trees. Oats and vetch were intercropped into the orchard either as single-species (oats or vetch) or two-species (oats and vetch combined) intercrops within an inter-row. We tested the effects of providing food and alternative hosts to parasitoids by intercropping a plum orchard with companion plants.
